What’s the difference between equal pay and the gender pay gap?

This week the Cripps Pemberton Greenish trainee solicitor blog caught up with Rhona Darbyshire, managing associate in the employment team.  Rhona acts for both employers and senior employees in contentious matters in a scope of sectors.

The upcoming legislation in April on gender pay gap reporting is expected to bring to light differences in average hourly earnings between men and women in organisations.  Rhona discusses which employers will have to report and the consequences of not doing so here.  The government expects the new rules to help bring more fairness and equality in the workplace.
